   "title": "About the parish",
   "text": "Newton St Loe is a civil parish of 643 hectares on the outskirts of Bath, within Bath and North East Somerset. It sits in the Saltford ward area and is served locally by Newton St Loe Parish Council, whose details are also listed on the council's democracy pages. The parish council provides the recreation ground, can make grants to local organisations, and receives a share of the Community Infrastructure Levy from developers for village improvements. It sees every planning application that affects the parish and comments where needed, and it follows day-to-day matters such as potholes, litter, footpaths and street lighting, which are the responsibility of Bath and North East Somerset Council. The council meets about every two months at the Village Hall, and meetings are open to the public. Agendas, plus minutes for the past two years, are on the council's own website. The band D council tax figure for the parish is £2,476.38 in 2026/27. There is no neighbourhood plan for Newton St Loe: the council's list of made neighbourhood plans in Bath and North East Somerset names nine parishes and towns, and Newton St Loe is not among them.",
