    "text": "Hey Bath is a free local website for Bath and North East Somerset. Hey Bath is run by Oliver Kingston as a personal, not-for-profit community project. We plan to move it into a not-for-profit company as it grows; if we do, this page will say so. In these terms “we” means Oliver Kingston. These terms apply when you use heybath.uk, its data and any account. By using the site you accept them. If you don’t, please don’t use it. They don’t take away any rights you have by law."

    "text": "Hey Bath gathers public information from councils, government, transport operators, venues, newsrooms and others, and shows it in one place. We take care to get it right and to say where each fact came from and when we last checked. But sources can be wrong, late or stop working, and so can we. Use Hey Bath as a helpful guide, not as the final word."

Trains: National Rail. Buses: the bus company or Traveline. Roads, bins, planning deadlines and council services: Bath & North East Somerset Council. Opening times, tickets and events: the venue or organiser. Bus and train times may be estimates. A flood or weather warning missing from Hey Bath doesn’t mean there isn’t one. In an emergency call 999; for a power cut call 105."

    "text": "Some words are written with the help of an AI: the morning “Bath today”, the short lines on the front page, and some area descriptions. We say so where they appear. The AI works only from our sources, and we check what it writes against them automatically before it goes up. It can still get things wrong or leave things out. If an AI summary and its source disagree, the source is right, and please tell us."

We read every message and aim to reply within 5 working days. We’ll correct it, add what’s missing, or take it down. If it’s about you personally, or you say it’s defamatory, unlawful or breaks your rights, we’ll take it down while we look, unless it plainly comes straight from an official public record, in which case we’ll tell you who publishes it. If you complain that something is defamatory, please say what it says, why it’s wrong and what harm it causes."

    "title": "Reusing our data",
    "text": "We want the facts to be used. Every page has a JSON twin: add.json to its address. Most of the data is open data under the licences listed in About us, and you may reuse it as those licences allow, crediting the original source. Some has extra conditions: OS and Royal Mail data in postcodes and addresses, share-alike for councillors and OpenStreetMap, and National Rail data must not suggest National Rail backs you. Headlines, listings and photos aren’t ours to license, so go to the publisher. Our own words, design and the way we put things together belong to Oliver Kingston. You’re welcome to quote short parts with a link to the page; ask us for anything more."

    "title": "Using the site fairly",
    "text": "Please don’t: attack, overload or try to break into the site or anyone’s account; fetch pages or JSON so fast it slows the site for others. Keep automated requests to about one a second, follow robots.txt, and say who you are in your user agent; suggest we back or work with you, or copy Hey Bath in a way that could mislead people; use the contact form for spam, abuse or threats. We may block traffic or close accounts that break these rules."

You can ask us to close your account at any time. We may close an account that is misused, or stop offering accounts, and we’ll tell you if we do. How we look after account details is in our privacy notice."

As long as we’ve taken reasonable care, we aren’t responsible for loss or damage from relying on information you could have checked with the official source, from other websites we link to, from sources being wrong or late, or from things outside our control. We aren’t responsible for losses we couldn’t have expected. If you use Hey Bath for a business, we aren’t responsible for lost profit, business or opportunity. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t let us limit."
