The application says: “Internal works for the Installation of a Stannah stairlift to the main internal staircase which connects the lower ground floor to the ground floor where the visitor reception and the main museum displays are located. A Stannah wheelchair exists between the ground floor and upper (top) mezzanine floor. The stairlift would be mounted to treads only of existing quarry-tile-covered, cast-concrete main staircase, electrically powered with battery back-up. No alterations to stairs or hand rails are required and stairlift would fold flat to wall when not in use and installed by the manufacturer.”
