Why it exists

Most of what you might want to know about Bath on a given day is already published somewhere: the council’s planning register and road notices, the Environment Agency’s river gauges, the police, the venues, the local papers and radio. It is spread across dozens of websites, each with its own way of saying things. Hey Bath reads them and puts them in one calm place, by day, by street and by area.

How it’s made

Every source we read is listed on How it runs, with how often we check it and whether it is working. Each morning at 6am we gather what is new and write up “Bath today”: a handful of short entries on what’s on, what’s changing and what to know. The words are written with the help of an AI, from those sources only, and checked against them before they go up: every entry links to where it came from, and anything that doesn’t match the sources is left out. If the checks fail, the edition goes up as a plain list instead.

The rest of the site, from bin days to river levels, comes straight from the sources and says when it was last checked.

What we won’t do

  • No ads, no sponsored posts and no paid placement.
  • We never sell or share your data. Your postcode stays on your device.
  • No accounts needed to read anything, and no endless feeds.
  • We don’t copy articles. Headlines link to the outlet that wrote them.
  • We don’t invent or guess. If a source hasn’t told us, we don’t say it.

Hey Bath covers the city of Bath and the rest of Bath and North East Somerset. Spotted something wrong? Tell us.
